Case study: consumer technology
Schema markup: organic clicks up 226 percent for a consumer technology brand
A consumer technology brand had incomplete Organization schema in the wrong place, no Website schema, and no FAQ schema on any of its FAQ pages. Correcting the structured data more than tripled organic clicks and nearly doubled impressions within the measurement window.

Background
The situation

The brand makes connected devices for the home and sells them direct to consumers. Its site had a solid product story and a useful set of FAQ pages, but search engines were not being told what the site was or what the FAQ pages contained.
Organization schema on the homepage was incomplete and placed in the page body rather than the head, Website schema was missing, and none of the FAQ pages carried FAQ schema. The result was a site that was eligible for rich results and brand-panel signals but was not receiving them, with visibility, traffic, and engagement all below what the content deserved.
What the brand needed
- Organization and Website schema that told search engines exactly who the brand was
- FAQ schema on every FAQ page so the questions could surface directly in search results
- An implementation that followed Google’s guidelines and validated cleanly
- A before and after read on traffic and engagement, not just rich-result eligibility
What we did
A structured data project scoped to the two places it would matter most: the homepage and the FAQ pages.
Organization and Website schema
The homepage schema was completed, corrected, and moved into the head of the page so that search engines would read it reliably and associate the brand’s entity, logo, and site with one another.
FAQ schema on every FAQ page
FAQ schema was added to all relevant FAQ pages in JSON-LD, in line with Google’s guidelines, so each question and answer became eligible to appear directly in search results.
Validation before launch
Every page was checked with Google’s Rich Results Test to confirm the markup was complete, error-free, and eligible for rich results.
Developer partnership
The markup was delivered as implementation-ready code and reviewed with the development team so it shipped correctly the first time.

Google Search Console and GA4, organic search. Before and after schema implementation, May 19 to July 13, 2025. Figures rounded as reported to the client.
Organic clicks rose from 838 to 3,000, an increase of 226 percent, while impressions grew 97 percent and click-through rate improved 67 percent. Average position moved up a place, which means the growth came mostly from the site appearing for more searches and earning a larger share of clicks when it did, exactly what richer search listings are meant to do.
The traffic was also better qualified. Engaged sessions from organic search grew 436 percent and engagement rate climbed from 65 to 76 percent, so the visitors arriving through the improved listings were staying and interacting with the site.
What made the difference
Why it worked

The fix went where the leverage was. Organization and Website schema shape how a brand is understood as an entity, and FAQ schema turns existing answers into search features. Fixing both at once gave the site a clearer identity and more visible listings in the same release.
It followed the guidelines exactly. Schema only earns rich results when it is complete, in the right place, and valid. Moving the markup into the head, filling in the missing properties, and validating every page is what made the difference between markup that exists and markup that works.
It was measured on outcomes. Rich-result eligibility is easy to claim. Tracking clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and engagement before and after is what showed the implementation paying off in traffic that stayed.
How the engagement ran

Markup written and validated
Organization, Website, and FAQ schema written in JSON-LD, then validated page by page with the Rich Results Test.
Implementation with the development team
Code reviewed with the developers and deployed to the homepage and every FAQ page.
Measurement
